Egypt (2023)
After a tour at a brick factory in the town of Mut in the Dakhla Oasis (Western Desert of Egypt) in 2022, an extremely arid region with less than 3mm of rain per year and no river nearby, I learned about layers of ancient clay sediment that can be found in many areas of egypt.
I collected samples from Dakhla, New Cairo and New Capital (under construction), designed cups (small/large) and with the support of a pottery studio in Fustat/ Cairo, had a few samples produced.
